USAID supports 826 participants, mostly women to graduate with FLT certificates

News Highlights November 29, 2023

U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (CEFI) is working to increase financial literacy, with emphasis on women in rural and remote communities in PNG. Local trainers certified by CEFI and supported by USAID’s Lukautim Graun Program (LGP), helped train participants, mostly women. A total of 826 participants graduated with certificates in financial literacy. The graduates are now vested with the basic knowledge of saving and budgeting and have a better understanding of the foundational financial skills required to create new enterprises and increase household and personal financial security, particularly for women. This is part of USAID’s commitment to support and empower women in PNG so they can fully participate in the formal economy.
